This is a story of immigration as seen through the eyes of a child. This is Misha's story, and perhaps your story too!
The idea for this book was born in 2013, during a conversation with a good friend, born and bred in the USA. The author was describing his connection to the world he left behind, and though it was a subject completely foreign to him, it resonated. At that moment, he understood that he had to bring this story to the kids of America. This is a story about perseverance through strong family connections and building on one's past. This is a story of immigration as seen through the eyes of a child. This is Alex's story, and perhaps your story too! The Author, Alex Vaysman, was born in Belarus, in a town not too far from its capital, Minsk. Alex had a happy childhood living in the USSR, but his parents wanted to give me a brighter future. So, in 1992, his parents, grandparents, and aunt, with his sister, his cousin, and him in tow, immigrated to America. Today, he lives with his amazing wife and three children in their home outside Chicago. Alex is an architect by trade, so when he is not writing children's books, he designs and builds stuff (as his kids like to say).
