DESCRIPTION

From award-winning children’s author Claudine C. Wargel comes a playful story of an industrious and tenacious sibling team...

Farm siblings Hattie and Dirk tend the family garden and dream of jack-o'-lanterns. But when they encounter a greedy garden shop owner and a friend in need, they find inspiration for their own enterprise. The duo set out to grow and sell low-cost pumpkins to give friends like Robbie a chance to carve their own jack-o'-lantern come fall. At first, their goal seems realistic. But naysayers and an unexpected force of nature (their own herd of hungry piglets!) combine to threaten their budding crop. As the siblings face doubt and destruction, they work to stay positive until a true surprise allows them to deliver on their promise. This wholesome book showcases sibling teamwork, family ties, and the duo's knack for tackling big ideas.
