DESCRIPTION

'ittle Bear travels the world in a Big Person's suitcase. While the Big Person works, she goes out on adventures of her own. As she travels, she experiences the wonderful things that one does when traveling (new places, exciting sights, new food, and new friends).

She also experiences a challenge that she solves through three superpowers that she has the potential for and develops within herself. These superpowers enable her to interact effectively across cultures, religions, and communities and are based on research in organizational psychology and intercultural collaboration.

This is the first book that will be followed with specific country, region, and activity books. Each subsequent book will introduce a new friend who is her guide, as well as highlights of that location, such as language, sights, food, and customs. She will experience a specific challenge with each book where she will have a chance to exercise and strengthen her superpowers.

The books give children a chance to travel and experience our world without leaving their bedroom or classroom. Through the books, we hope to introduce a love of experiencing all the exciting differences in our world, as well build the ability to interact effectively in a global society.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Sarah Wills Carlsson has spent her career bridging countries and cultures as a result of her roles in automotive engineering development. Stemming from an early passion for travel, language, and cultural differences, she has studied several languages, lived in four countries, worked with more than ten countries on a regular basis, and has traveled to more than thirty countries. She loves to work with diverse teams to help bridge their differences, align their goals, and achieve amazing results. From her leadership experience in complex systems engineering, she brings together psychological tools and models to everyday engineering global workplaces to allow them to see the difference that global cooperation brings. She decided to start writing these books as a result of encountering too many people who choose not to work effectively with colleagues around the world and hopes to influence the next generation to truly "see the difference" that global diversity brings. Educated in the United States (Northwestern - Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Stanford - Masters in Engineering Management), she has spent most of her adult life living in Europe (Sweden and Germany). As she likes to say, "the world is my office and home".
